CEDAR RAPIDS RIVER KINGS ANNOUNCE MEDICAL STAFF


The Cedar Rapids River Kings are bringing back Doctor Dustin Arnold as the team physician as well as Doctor Chris Bowers as the team chiropractor.

Dr. Dustin Arnold is an internist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is affiliated with UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital. He received his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Arnold joined St. Luke’s in 2006 and was named Chief Medical Officer/Chief Medical Information Officer in 2014. He is also Medical Director of the Wound Healing Clinic and Hyperbaric Chamber.

“New ownership and respected coaching are the formula for success. I was honored to be asked to rejoin the organization as the team physician. I know the fans will share my enthusiasm to welcome back Coach Stoute and Coach Custer,” Arnold said.

Dr. Chris Bowers practices at the Chiropractic Clinic of Iowa in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is a 2008 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Western State College of Colorado in Professional Biology. He is a member and past District President and Compliance Committee Chair of the Iowa Chiropractic Society (ICS) and a member of The American Chiropractic Association. He is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (C.C.E.P) and is certified in Functional Movement Screens (FMS). He currently serves on the Board of Directors with His Hands Free Medical Clinic and Healing Our Heroes. Dr. Bowers is a Cedar Rapids native and graduate of Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School.

“I am so thrilled to be working with The River Kings this year,” said Bowers. “The management/ownership are doing things right and coach Stoute is back. These guys have the experience and knowledge to truly take these guys back to the top.”

The Cedar Rapids River Kings training camp opens this week. Practices will be held at Game On Sports, 4625 Tower Terrace Road, in Cedar Rapids. Practice begins on Tuesday February 5th at 8:00 am and Wednesday-Friday practices will run from 8:00 am-12:30 pm. The first week of practice will conclude with a three-team scrimmage to be held on February 9, 2019 in Moline vs. the Quad City Steamwheelers and the Green Bay Blizzard.
