RICKEY GALVIN SIGNS WITH CEDAR RAPIDS

The Cedar Rapids River Kings have signed wide receiver Rickey Galvin to its 2019 roster. 

Galvin (5’8”, 181, Washington State) joins the River Kings after a productive career at Washington State. While he was a Cougar, Galvin had an injury-plagued career, but started 21 games across his four seasons, including six his redshirt freshman year. He racked up 113 receptions for 1,021 yards and eight touchdowns. He added 116 career carries for 604 yards, 602 of which came in his second season with Wazzu, and five touchdowns, both of which led the team in 2011. He also returned 19 punts for 148 yards with 24 kickoff returns for 537 yards. 

Galvin spent time with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League, playing on their preseason squad. He is from Oakland, California.

The Cedar Rapids River Kings (formerly the Titans) will take the field for their eighth season of operations in 2019 and their first under the new ownership of Roy Choi and Matt Stone with General Manager Ryan Eucker at the helm. Cedar Rapids joined the IFL as an expansion team in the 2012 season. They play their home games at the U.S. Cellular Center and have made four playoff appearances (2013-16) with two trips to the conference championship game (2013, 2014).
